  • GPU error after V8 upgrade?

Posted by Andrew Smith on August 17, 2011 at 1:39 am

I just upgraded from 7.1 to V8 following directions in this forum about just installing and updating database but now when i launch the app i get the error message “chassis 1: GPU Config Error: No CUda boards available”.

I went and updated cuda in system prefs (driver version 4.0.31 / GPU driver 1.6.36.10) but still same error – after hitting ok and tring to launch any of my sessions i get a crash 🙁

    any thoughts on this?

    MacPro 4,1 OSX 10.6.8 / FCS3 / CS5
    2.26 ghz 8-core / 24GB RAM
    Nvidia GT 120/285 combo

    Hey Andrew,

Can you send us the crash logs ?

If you double click the Capture Logs button in this folder :

    Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/

This will save a file to your desktop and if you could send that to :

    davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com

I’ll have a look for you!

    Thanks,

    D

I had the same problem. Try switching the position of the GUI and the Cuda card. Worked for me.

I had this problem, but it did not happen after the upgrade. It had been working fine then one day I just started to get that same message. I rebooted my Mac and all was fine again.
