    Hi there,
I apologize if this is the wrong place for this post,
If so, please direct me to the proper section.

I am a video editor and recently I have been getting 5k footage to work with, I was working with FCPX and it was relatively slow to begin with, but after a few edits; superimpositions, fades ect the program would freeze up and cease to respond.
I thought if I upgraded to a computer with better ram/hd it might help my process. so thats what I did, what I didn’t account for was the Graphics card. I’m not sure if this will make a major impact on my editing or not. but any help or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
    here are the specs.

    Old Model:
    Macbook pro. early 2011
    2 GHz Intel Core i7

    AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256MB
    15.4 inch (14404 x 900)
    500GB HD

    New Model:
    Macbook pro. early 2011
    2 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB *
    15.4-inch (1680 x 1050)
    750GB HD
