Within Adobe AE CS5’s preferences is there any way to setup the computer’s GPU to render? I can set almost every single CPU on the process but I actually didn’t find any option regarding the GPU: I have a Quadro 2800 with Cuda so it would actually become pretty faster with it. Is there any tweak I must do to gain advantage of my graphic card?

My deepest thanks, you clarified me something I admit I never understood.

AFAIK no tweaking but an OpenGL card does help with some effects.

    [Dave LaRonde] “That might be.
Perhaps you can then explain to me why every Adobe employee I have ever spoken to keeps Open GL acceleration turned off for all rendering chores.”

    See response here.

My apologies if I’m asking the same question.

    I bought a GTX670 Nvidia card.

When I render, After Effects uses 100% of my CPU

While I have my monitoring window for my GTX card open wilst rendering…it clearly show that the GPU on the card is not doing ANYTHING? Even though After Effects Preferences are set to GPU and not CPU….it still seems to be using CPU ONLY when rendering.

    Is this normal??
