I am looking at slow motion with Sony Vegas and thought I’d ask. I brought in a 120fps clip (848×480) shot with the GoPro HD Hero 2 camera. I have a few choices:

    1. add a velocity envelope and drag down. if I move to 25%, am I still looking at 30fps or is there something else going on?

    2. instead of playing with the velocity envelope, go to clip properties and change playback speed to .25.

is there a recommended way to do this?

Part 2 is how to move to a much slower speed. I can do this with the velocity envelope, or I do have Boris BCC and the optical flow plug in. Is there a preferred method? I’d rather not buy Twixtor, and I’m not sure how Boris competes. Thus far, my Boris results have been pretty terrible, but I think it might have something to do with how I’m reducing the speed from 120 fps to 30 fps.

    Thoughts?

If you shot at 120fps, your playback will be 25% speed. At that speed your still using 30fps for playback and should be nice and smooth. Slower then that and your interpolating frames.
