going from avid to fcp
Hey everybody, a quick question with maybe not so easy an answer:
I’m working on an SD project right now (DV/NTSC 29.97) in AVID. I’m thinking about doing my color correction and titles with the Apple Final Cut Pro Suite and I wanted to know what the best approach is and if this is even possible. I wouldn’t mind exporting a quicktime movie and then re-importing that into FCP. I could just razorblade all the cuts and do my color that way. If so, what is a good codec for this? Any ideas? -

You can open your Avid project directly in FCP and go from there. Some Avid codecs are not supported in FCP however so you might have to re-capture.
