The way I work is to digitize my video using auto detect to splice clips, open up all my source clips in the source, trim them, and then drop them into the timeline with no sounds.

Are there any keyboard commands to go to the next source clip in source monitor (similar to color tab in photoshop). Also is there a way to change all your source clips to audio only with one command.

I’m open to other suggestions for a different workflow which might work quicker.

OMG I found it Shift 2.

Now to find a way to set all my clips to video only.

Is there also possibly a way to when you drop a clip in the timeline to close it in the source. Or is there a key command to close a clip in the source monitor.

It’s actually very easy to find out what each shortcut does and even what actions don’t currently have shortcuts assigned. See: FAQ:What keyboard shortcut performs the “xyz” action?

    Cheers

    Hi Mike…

I too would like to set all clips to Video only…

the closest I’ve come is to set the take audio/video toggle to a keyboard shortcut (I use A).

That way you just tap the key and your good to go….

    Alex,
Can you tell me where you found that keyboard shortuct? I have been going to edit >> keyboard customiotion >> panels >> Source and looking there but did not find it. I have Premiere CS3.

Oh wait I found it under edit >> keyboard customization >> application >>take audio video.
I set my take video to V, and then I hit the comma to insert. This saves me loads of time. Thanks Alex, your post helped me out.
