Go Pro settings – preview lag
Hi guys I need your help,
I’m editing a video using GoPro 5 files and I can’t continue with process because the preview is not rendering, it’s lagging all the time.
Can someone help me out with correct settings I should use to create a new project?Premiere Pro CS6
Windows 7 (I’m using external memory but it doesn’t work on my pc anyway)
Properties for any clip:
Type: MPEG Movie
Image Size: 2704 x 1520
Frame Rate: 59.94
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – compressed – Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Stereo
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0Thank you in advance!

Hello – what do you mean by external memory? Are you referring to hard disk storage?
We need more information about your system, especially details on the storage you are using.
System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF. -
are you saying it doesn’t show at all or it does, just not very responsive?
most h.264 stuff isn’t stopped by hard disk speed but rather cpu. since you don’t have cc 2017 proxy features, you could go full offline and transcode in prelude to dnxhd/hr.

16GB usable RAM, I’m using 1TB hard disk storage for my project. It’s my first time editing gopro 5 video, 2.7K and 60fps
The preview of the sequence is just not smooth at all it shows a few random images and I can’t keep editing like that. Rendering the whole sequence takes ages and it’s just wasting time. -
Native GoPro files can tax many edit systems. Download Quik Desktop with GoPro Studio from GoPro website. This will allow you to trim clips, and then convert to .avi or .mov files which will edit far more easily. However, these files will be much larger than original, being less compressed.
