Got these drives as they claimed to be the best for 800Firewire speed. I am using FCP Studio with HD footage shot on HVX200 in 24p Advanced…all material has been edited using GTech Raid 2 1T …switched over to the Glyph by copying all files directly COPY and PASTE…and almost done….in the last few weeks the application started crashing..no reason..random..sometimes just by playing the sequence…sometimes during rendering a title animation….NOW I can’t even EXPORT video to VIDEO QT again NTSC DV25 23.98….. my setting are NTSC 23.98 so my audio person can work on sweetening in PT…audio by itself no problem
    1. Is it the cables…what are the best and most reliable 800 9 to 9 cables???
    2. I have the Glyph GT062 drive striped as a pair of 500Gigs into a RAid 0…
    3. I only have 2 tracks of Video…no effects..titles at the start and end…and 2 tracks of audio…

    what am I missing????

any info or personal exp highly appreciated…

    Cordially

Start trouble shooting, start with one

Try new FW cables. I don’t think I have had more than 2 cables go bad in 10 years with I would guess over a 100 cables. I have never bought cables, just used the ones that come with the drives.

Do you have the same problem if you go back to the GTech drives?

Do you have this problem with other projects?

    How full are the drives?

I have never used Copy and Paste to move files, just drop and drop, don’t know if that makes a difference.
