I’ve got a 3D object I created in C4D. It is rotating and as it does pieces of it are fading in… so it is a build. I do these type of fades in AE so you get “solid” fades instead of seeing the underlying geometry when fading in C4D .

So I have overlapping tiff sequences with a 1 sec fade on each overlap.

I want to add a glow. If I add the glow to each individual layer the glows are additive and then Blink out when the lower fading sequence ends.

If I make a comp of all elements fading and then add the glow effect to the comp it blinks in about 3/4s of the way through the glow. The glow effect seems not to enable until the opacity level reaches a certain point.

Is there a way to get a smooth glow as all these pieces fade in?

    Thanks

Instead of using the glow effect, which I find a biot moody, why not try this:

Pre-comp the entire object fade-in sequence you have, and then when you drop that comp into your final comp, suplicate the layer, and on the top of the 2 layers, add a blur, and change the transfer mode to “add” – play with the transparency a bit.

    Maybe that will help.
