I’ve been using C4D for A long, long time, but I’m having trouble tracking down when Radiosity left the render settings menu and Global Illumination and Abient Occl came in. I’ve searched through all the Addendums I have back to 8.5 but can’t find explanations of how these tools work and what they do. Any help?

    Thanks,

    Tim

Just download the latest documentation PDFs from MAXON site so you dont have to thumb through the addendums.
Global Illumination is just a name change from Radiosity and Ambient Occlusion is similar to the Dirt shader you might already know. It just offers better antialiasing and more control over the direction of the rays. Beside within the Render Settings there is also a AO shader that can do the same thing but limited to a material and not the whole scene.

    Kind regards,
