Building a circular glass 3D structure (award)… curious on best workflow to cut render time. Currently using imported photoshop layers, layered 50 deep to create 3D depth… thin opacity on each layer, and each layer has light transmission set to 100%. 3 lights and 1 small camera move. 8 sec animation. 27 hour render. Any ideas?

    You’re using classic 3d right?

Can’t think of anything but to try and do the same with fewer layers. AE ain’t build for that kind of thing. Go for any 3d software if you have access to and avoid the hassle.

What exact version number of AE are you using (down to the decimals)?
    What are your computer specs?
