I need to add a colourful logo onto a video of snowy mountains and in order to better “blend” the logo into the video I’d like it to cast off some colour onto the white of the snow (aside from shadows), which is what would happen if a giant colourful logo floated above snowy mountains… I know I can use the Shadow Catcher Material in order to catch a reflections and sort of recreate this effect. But I’m wondering if there’s perhaps a more straightforward way of doing this, i.e. directly catching the light that reflects of a certain colour and then casts another surface with that colour. In the past I’ve found I can sort of manage this in perfect conditions with an all white surface (white in colour, not luminance, of course), but because that surface is not pure white, but rather obviously responds to the light it receives, I end up with a non-white layer on which I have to work a lot in order to composite it properly.

Basically, is there any way of making a GI Catcher that only receives reflected light, and doesn’t receive shadows?
