Ghost in the machine- Avid starts playing on it’s own
Can anyone tell me why this is happening:
I’m syncing a master stack and twice Avid plays my sequence without me pushing the play button. The first time I had to force quit and restart (and lost all my unsaved work). Now I’m letting it play to the end of the sequence.
My cursor will let me move bins but none of my keyboard functions, or menu options will work.
Help.

Are you editing on a macbook? I have had this type of voodoo when the battery expands, thus pressing play by simply resting your hands on the keyboard.
This may be a battery failure, causing voodoo.
Otherwise try new user settings, there may be a button mapped to your mouse that is inadvertently pressing play.
