I have an after effects composition in which I want to drop 2d pics of the earth selected from pshop files
How do I get just the selection the earth into the after effects comp without the white border?

I Have a foglight (swirling foggy background in the comp) if I used a black background for the comp I could do that but the fog is necessary so how do I get rid if the border in maaking the selection into a new file

    1) First make your selection of what you watn to keep
    2) If you layer is not a floating layer, doubleclick on the background layer, and hit enter so that the layer name is no longer background in italic type
    3) CLick on the bottom left and place into after effects
