Getting pinched height video on some DVD players only
I shooting and using the 16:9 anamorphic setting in both Final Cut, Compressor and DVD studio Pro.
I am shooting and using SD 720×480 settings in all programs. (3:2 720×480 with Lower Field and progressive Render)All seems well when I run the final video product on computers but when I run it on DVD players the end result seems more like 16:8 instead of 16:9. Squished in height.
What seems strange is that even the DVD-Studio Pro menus are pinched or skewed inward in height. The menus are created and rendered in DVD studio Pro unlike the actual video sequences so this seems a DVD studio Pro issue entirely.
Maybe the Field settings are messing it up??Thank You

You say it only happens on some DVD players. I’m betting that the aspect ratio on the TV it is hooked up to us set wrong.
Can’t tell you how many times I visit my parents and the aspect ratio on their TV is set wrong.
**Hindsight is always 1080p**

That and/or a combination of the DVD player screen settings. It has to be told what type of a screen you have. Wide or 4:3, as well as how to display on that type of screen.
As for your menus looking off IN DVDSP, do you have your settings set correctly there? You could have a menu set to 4:3 and the videos set to 16:9.

No everything is set to 16:9.
Thanks for the help. I will keep working on it. Just some DVD players aren’t set right.
