getting into it
Im trying to produce a skateboarding series for a TV network and they require “HD”submissions for pilots. Ive been shooting with the HG21consumer and its been good but I need to step it up.
Right now im editing on FCE But I want to upgrade to FCP.I’m looking at purchasing the CANON XH A1S.
Will this be sufficient for shooting skateboarding?
What type of software is good for this camera?Thanks,Wes

An XH-A1s with FCP is a fine combination and would be an ideal cam for skateboarding video…
However, if you’re intending to create a show for a network, you should research a bit deeper. The Canon may be sufficient quality for a pilot, but many networks have more specific requirements regarding how you shoot and deliver a show beyond basic “HD” capability. This varies widely among networks, and I have no idea which one you’re pitching to, so you need to find out from them.

Thanks. Yeah Im just pitching to a sorta independent TV station. Kinda running outta interest in the project right now myself.
I am a fan of Canon though.
I really need to upgrade my computer before I make my next buy.wes day
