    Hi

A friend of mine owes a sony ex1….we are trying to figure out how to get edited Material Back On SxS in order to be ably to use camera’s component and hd-sdi outputs to dump edited xdcam sequences on tape….in studios different from ours…however no matter what we do…we don’t succeed to bring the camera in media mode to recognize the xmf we’ve exported….has anyone successfully got edidted material from fcp back to sXs card….

I think several people have been trying to do this without success. I’m sure it has everything to do with the complete file structure which includes XML, SMI, PPN, BIM and what they’re pointing to.

I think you might be better of burning your edit probably in either .mxf or FCP’s mov wrapped file to DL-DVD (or Blu-ray or portable Hard Drive, large USB memory stick, etc) and taking to a house that can read the file and dump to tape.

BTW, relating to the above, using an 8GB or 16GB USB memory stick might be good small inexpensive way to move edited files.
