  • Getting Cinescore to work as plug in in Vegas Pro 9

Posted by Steve Mize on January 22, 2010 at 2:37 pm

I can’t get Cinescore to work within the Vegas Pro 9 program (I also had this problem with Vegas Pro 8 but lived with it). I contacted Sony support and their solution is to uninstall all of my Sony Creative software (including Vegas, Cinescore, DVD Architect, ACID, and Sound Forge) along with the Sony folders, reboot the system and download the programs again and install them. They said this will result in a clean install and should work. I have already tried uninstalling Cinescore and reinstalling it but it had no effect. The computer is less than a year old (Vista Ultimate 64 bit, I7 processor, 6 Gb of RAM) and when I installed them to begin with, it was a clean install. They were the first programs I installed (except it was Vegas 8).

Are they on the right track or will this be a gigantic waste of time?

I am able to get Cinescore to work as a standalone program but not as a plug in. When I right click an audio track, I don’t get the option for creating generated music.

Are you using the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro 9? If so, Cinescore will never work because it’s a 32-bit plug-in. You need to use the 32-bit version of Vegas Pro 9.0 to get the Cinescore plug-in to work.

    HI John,

Is the music for Cinescore still available? I can’t find it or I’m looking in the wrong place.
    Thanks,

Sorry Ralph but Sony discontinued at the end of last year so you can no longer buy any music for it 🙁

    Hi Mike,

I have Cinescore and only some music. I knew they discontinued Cinescore, but I thought I was able to purchase just the music from somewhere.

No, it looks like the Cinescore Theme Packs page has been taken down and they are no longer available. 🙁
