Getting 1080i HDV transport stream to tape with Sony Z1U cam or M15U deck?
Running Avid Media Composer 2.8.3 on Mac OS 10.4.11. Successfully exported my 1080i HDV sequence to transport stream (I opened the TS file in MPEG stream clip, to confirm, and it plays fine there) and now want to put the TS to tape, either to my Sony Z1U camera or Sony M15U deck.
I’ve got them alternately connected directly via Firewire to the back of my Mac tower, bypassing my old analog Mojo. I have deck configuration set to Firewire/OCHI/Z1U for camera, and Firewire/OCHI/M10U (no M15U specific pre-set.) So did Export to Device/HDV and used my existing stream and I was seemingly able to output to tape in my Z1Ucam. MC gave me prompt that I successfully completed TS Export to HDV Device. During output, Avid seemed to have cam control, and cam seemed to be recording (time code running in the cam mon.) Did this in both VCR and cam settings. But no video appeared in cam monitor when recording, and when I played back in VCR mode, there was no picture. Just black. I also tried with my M15U deck but after a very quick window that showed export progress I got this prompt – “Export to HDV Device completed with an error/ Export to HDV Device- DIO failed to start.”
So it seems like I’ve had the most success with camera. Any ideas?
