get original clip from timeline
Is there a way or shortcut to get the original clip in the library by clipping on the clip in the timeline so i can i can make a new cut from it without changing the ins and out from the clip in the timeline?

F will match frame in the viewer and Shift – F will reveal the clip in the Browser, but you could have found that from either summoning FCP’s help menu or reading the manual.
And by the way, a question as simple as this one belongs in the Basics Forum.
