FCP5 using dvcprohd 59.94. Capture using the kona card sdi from Panasonic 1200 hd deck. The video looks fine coming in but after capture, the clips in the bin are black. The files are on the hard drive and playback fine using quicktime. If i try to reconnect to these files, i get an error message “the files do not have the proper content to reconnect”. If i import the files from the hard drive, they work fine.

I have FCP4.5 & OSX.3.9 on a backup and if i boot from that drive and run FCP4.5, HD capture works fine. Standard def using dvcpro50 setup works fine in FCP5 Any thoughts?

    G5 dual 2.5 ghz ; Mac OS X (10.4.1); 2.5 gigs ram, ati 9800, kona2, xserve raid

Capture via SDI via Kona 2 is not buying you anything with DVCProHD and is actually adding another compression cycle.

Capture via Firewire from the 1200A. I just did a test on my FCP 5 system by capturing about a dozen clips from my 1200A and all was well. Capture, playback and edit were fine.
