  • generate random number at random interval…

    hey guys,
so i think i have two parts that i can’t figure out how to link. i want to generate a random number or hexadecimal that refreshes at random intervals.

i can generate random numbers or hex at a constant interval, say, every 1 frame or every 30 frames or every 67 frames, using dan ebbert’s grid of binary/hex/number generator.

and i can see in dan’s scripting tutorials how to make a light flicker on and off with the duration of “on” set to be a random time between time1 and time2,

but i can’t figure out how to combine them, so that i generate a line of hex that updates every so often, a random time of between, say, 1 and 3 seconds.

can anyone help me out here?

have tried time remapping and posterise in combination with wiggles etc, but a) i can’t get this to work and b) there should be a way to integrate the expressions.

    thanks,
    scott.
