Generate Loudness Log
I talked to PBS today because I was curious if I was getting the proper “loudness log” using Vegas. For years I’ve been using a free program called “TB_EBULoudness” to get that reading.
It turns out that Vegas gave me a reading of -23.93 (LUFS) and the one PBS tells me to use reads -24.6
Both those numbers are within acceptable limits but they wouldn’t be had the overall levels been a bit higher or lower to keep withing the -24 range. (PBS rejects anything more than -2 in either direction)
Just thought I’d throw this out as PBS has been very particular about the levels on our shows.
