I have a nubish but specific question. Is there any way to generate evenly spaced markers in Adobe After Effects CS4? They can be composition or layer markers; I think I can work with either. What would be ideal would be if I could specify a markers per minute or second, or seconds between markers, and just have them be auto-generated from some given start time. This method would be able to figure out what frames are nearest to the exact times that are calculated, so that it’s not just limited to “a marker every X frames”.

I’ve looked all over for this, from native capabilities to plug-ins, and haven’t found anything. The closest I’ve gotten is that you can put in a song or something with a strong beat, do a RAM Preview, and hit the numpad star key on every beat.

Dunno, there must be a way to script the Add Marker with a regular timing increment. I do not do scripts.

In the olden days, we’d record a click track (mic and a metronome, really high tech) and display the audio waveform.
