General video edits
I’ve mounted one of my first videos ever, and I’d like to get criticism and suggestions about how to enhance the result. Would you take the time to watch this two minute clip and report back?
The footage was shot with a Sony a6000, on automatic mode, AWB, in mp4 format.

Beautiful clean footage. Nice work.
Suggestions;
1 – Move in closer on food shots. Food looks better the more it fills the screen.
2 – Add in some slo-mo. Give a little more time to savor some of the shots and it smooths out the hand-held action.
3 – The titles that are four lines go by a bit fast. A good rule is to read them out loud to make sure you have enough on-screen time.
4 – Add a one or two frame white flash before going to the black and white still of the group. Simulated camera flash.
5 – One thing I would always tell my students is to shoot from high angles and low angles, not all from a standing position. This shows viewers the event from a different perspective than what they would normally see and makes it more interesting.Keep shooting and producing. Have fun!

I would even out the exposure levels and bring the shadows up a bit. 🙂

A few things:)
The first few shots, you could mix in a closer shot of the crowd. Those wide shots make the place look empty. Close ups of faces (diff angles) would make it more interesting.
And like others have suggested, close up of food.
The shot of the wine glasses could be made interesting by shooting the glasses with people (out of focus) in the BG or with sunlight from the window in the BG.
You could cut in close ups of people, close ups of notes being written etc.Kannan Raghavan
