I’m getting a new Kona LHe. I know that it doesn’t support upconversion. However, if I plug my DSR-25 into it the COMPOSITE IN on the card and use rs-422 control, will I be able to capture as DVCPRO50? If so, will timecode come over as well?

    Thanks

    Yes, and Yes.
Just make sure your settings are correct and Kona/FCP will do the rest.

Yes, but why would you want to. A DV signal, converted to analog, passed along via composite, then transcoded into DV50. Yikes, that’s gonna look horrible. If it’s strictly for offline and you plan on doing an online later than that’s fine. But composite? At the very least you should be using S-Video.

    I agree…S-Video at the least. I use this setup with a DSR20.
