“General Error” on FCP 5
Hello everyone, hope you can help!
I have recently tried to open old projects that I am still working on and am getting a “general error” when I try to open them. I have plenty of space on my hard drives and am using an internal SATA drive and an external G-SATA drive with 1TB. (150gig free). Not all the project give this message, just some. How can I remedy this and what does it mean? I am running a dual processor 2.5 gig G5 with 8gig RAM.
This started a few weeks ag but was able to rescue it from an AUTOSAVE, but now not even this works.

Alright. First trash your preferences, this usually helps in these situations. If that doesn’t help, see this thread:
Prepare to read, it’s a long thread. If you can’t make sense of it, post back and we’ll figure it out.

I would first restart then run Mac Janitor (do a search on the web) and then disk utility and repair the permissions. If that does not work, maybe disk warrior.
