    Hi,

I have been posting about this on the Apple Support Forums, but haven’t had any help yet.

I have some HDV 1080i60 footage that I am importing to FCP. I have a 1080i60 timeline setup and all of my settings are set correctly to 1080i60. When I go to capture it will play back my footage in the capture window like normal, but it will not retain the clips. It will reach the end of the tape and then say:

General Capture Error: An Unknown Capture Error Has Occurred

I have no clue where to begin to try and fix this. I have double checked all of my settings and have now tried on 2 different Canon HDV camera, my XHA1 and a friends HV30.

    Can anyone help me?

I am very afraid of having to do a re-install…

    – Mac Pro 2x 2.8 Quad Core Intel Xenon 2GB Memory 500GB HD
    – Mac OS X 10.5.2
    – Final Cut Pro Studio 6.0.2
    – QuickTime Pro 7.4.5
    – 500GB G-Raid2 External Hard Drive

    – Canon XH-A1

So after a bit of help on the Apple forums a re-install was suggested. I used FCS Remover to un-install and did a clean install.

Somehow, this problem IS STILL HAPPENING!!!!

iMovie is importing the footage just fine so it is not a problem with both cameras I’ve tried, the tape, or the hard drive, so it HAS to be a FCP issue. Did I correctly uninstall and re-install? Can anyone think of any other issues that may be causing this?
