  • “Gang to Program Monitor” from Reference Monitor

Posted by Darren Lee on November 15, 2016 at 6:47 pm

I’m trying to get the Reference Monitor to play exactly what is in the Program Monitor, with Gang to Program Monitor selected, but it only updates when the playhead stops, not as it’s playing.

Is there an option for this?

    Using 2014.2

    Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, that is normal behavior for the ref monitor in that release.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

    Hi Darren,

The Reference Monitor does not playback simultaneously with the Program Monitor. Any reason why you want it to? If you’re looking for another way to watch your timeline, you could use a secondary monitor via Transmit.

    Hi Peter, thanks for replying

I want to use two Program Windows; one with a Multi-Camera view and the other with Composite Video

When you say use a secondary monitor via Transmit, do you mean literally plug in another physical monitor? Or is there an effective way of doing using Transmit?

    Hi Darren,

Yes, sorry for not being clear. I did mean to ‘literally plugin’ a second monitor. Otherwise I don’t think what you’re trying to accomplish can be done.

    Ok Thanks Peter,

I’ve checked “Show Multi-Camera Preview monitor”, which aligns a window to the left, as that’s almost what I’m after.

Is there a way to rearrange the Multi-Camera Preview monitor so that it is stacked vertically, or detach it in some way?

    Thanks again
