    hello everybody.

after following this forum for over a year now its time for me to write something myself. i am sorry that it is a problem and not a solution but its a start 🙂
and please excuse my english if it gets to bad. i am no native speaker.

thank you for all the sollutions i found without asking!

    the problem:
if you build a linear gradient in AE and look at the video-out with an oscilloscope you will see a curve. bad! and none of the settings (colormanagement in projectsettings) changes a bit. if you apply a gamma-correction to the comp with 1.8/2.2 -> 0.82 (classical quicktime gamma problem) the curve looks fine.

from a client i know that i am not alone with this problem. my sollution is an adjustment-layer with gamma set to 0.82 while working and disabling it while rendering (!!!)

the problem is only the video-out. i experienced no problems with data in/out.

    hardware:
    MacPro 2*3GHz 4GB RAM
    BlackMagic DeckLink HD Pro

Have you tried using a linear color profile as your working space?

If you have CS3 then you should already have a few, if not then try these:

yes. i tried every possible setting in colormanagement of AE. The preview on my TFT changes, but never the video-out.
i found another thread for the problem suggesting to change the decklink-settings in system-settings from yuv to rgb. but i found no way to do this.

    thanks for the reply,

Well, just in case you were Simulating Output, this is from AE’s LiveDocs:

“Whether or not color management is enabled for the project, After Effects does not manage the color of previews on an external video monitor. The colors sent to the external video monitor are in the project
