FYI: ProRes capture on a Quad G5

You should absolutely be able to capture ProRes 422 1080i/60 with your quad machine using the IO HD.”You can do ProRes Capture / Playback on a MacBook Pro too with the Io HD. That’s the whole point of the on-board processing. AJA had the unit hooked up to a laptop at NAB and it was working very nicely.

Welcome to the dark side (actually, the enlightened side). I think you will be happy (for the most part)… Plus, you’ll be able to lean on me and the others here during your trip over the learning curve. There are lots of great peeps here. My to you advice is, read everything that come across this forum and you will usually know what’s happening before you need to know it and before it affects you.
