    Hi all

I have a problem with capturing from the FX1E. I can capture the m2t file okay. My problem is that there are no subclips to edit individually as with my previous camcorder TRV 340. Obviously the formats are different but when filling 60min tape and then having to edit the full monty is a pain

    Any suggestions would be apprecieted

    Thanks

    Jeremy

I’ve heard that you don’t get scene detection when capturing HDV (post on another forum)…. it was quite a shock to me when I heard this. It will be interesting to find if ther is a third-party solution to this (for instance something like the optical scene selection in Scenealyzer Live – that could be applied at post capture). I have a feeling it has something to do with the MPEG m2t structure coming from the camera… but I am far from an expert in this.

I heard similar and hence my question hoping that someone will come up with a plausible solution.

Although the quality is great, working with HDV is becoming a pain!

Hopefully someone has or will come up with a workable solution

[Clock] “hoping that someone will come up with a plausible solution”

The Extract Good Clips feature in Excalibur will let you quickly go through your footage and define the areas you want, mve them to a new track, and has an option to create subclips of those regions.
