Future of AE plugs in FCP
I really like being able to use After Effects compatible plugins in Final Cut Pro, especially Boris Red and Continuum Complete. Since the release of FCP Universal (5.1) these have become unreliable, even with the patches that Boris has released. Plugins written in FCP’s effects language still work fine, as well as the Boris titleing plugins that ship with FCP. I have not seen any comments from Apple about this. Do you think that they may be dropping compatibility with AE plugs?

I’m pretty sure that Apple want plugin writers to drop AE filters and move to FX Script & FX Plug.
AE filters won’t be accelerated by the GPU and thats the way things are going.
