I am trying to get function keys to use AE’s functions, not OSX. I can’t seem to get it to work, I have tried:

in AE preferences: use system shortcuts in NOT checked.
in OSX System Preferences: under Expose, not all options are set to none. Not shortcuts.
    rebooed system, and AE.

Still, F3, for ex, brings up expose, rather than show layer effects (AE function)

    any ideas, or remedy?

    thanks.

Try this: In System Preferences, open Keyboard and select “Use all F1, F2, F3, etc. as standard function keys.” That should bypass the special functions printed on the keys.

It is easier to destroy than to create.
    More fun, too.
