function key shortcuts not working in FCP
I just launched my brand new FCP 6.0.2 Macpro 8core system and I can’t get the function key shortcuts to work in FCP. (f10 to overwrite, f9 to insert a clip…).
The “letter” shortcuts work fine.
I opened System Preferences and the funcyion keys were already released from Expose and I also confirmed they are released in the “keyboard shortcut” window of sys prefs.
So I put them back inon Expose, restarted and then opened the sys pref window and erased them again from Expose. Now they work in FCP ONLY when I press the “fn” modifier key.
I then threw out my fcp preferences and tried it all again. The besyt I can get it is to work when I press “fn” with the function key.
Am I missing something? Please help!

Sys Prefs > Keyboard and Mouse > Keyboard Tab
Uncheck the box that says “Use all f1, f2, Etc…”

That box had already been unchecked. (yet it still only works when I PRESS the “fn” key).

Throw your computer out and get a new one?
