First, do I have the right forum?

I have a new FS7 and an Atomos Shogun monitor/recorder. I have the FS7 and Shogun set up to record 4K and that works fine. I’d like to setup the SDI out to show 1080 for feeding a larger monitor. Is this possible? And how?

If I’m in the wrong forum please direct me to the right one, and thanks.

    Thanks,
    John

    Best,
    John

Hey John. I’m in this same boat. Have you found any info?

The Shogun can of course downconvert the 4K to 1080 and feed your monitor, but the Shogun tends to introduce latency so this hasn’t been a great option for me. Better than nothing, but not great.

As best as I’ve been able to determine you can’t have it set up to feed HDMI to the shogun and also feed SDI out. The Atomos instructions didn’t show how to set up to feed SDI to the shogun and I infer you can’t do that and then take the second SDI our from the camera to a monitor, that you can only use HDMI. I’d like to find out I’m wrong about that.

    Best,
    John
