FS5: No proxy timecode in Quicktime 7
The FS5 .mp4 proxies display timecode in Catalyst Browse and Adobe Prelude but not Quicktime pro, which is the only program our transcribers use. With hours of interviews, I’m forced to re-compress the proxies with TC burn-in which defeats the purpose of having proxies. Anyone know how to get the TC to show in Quicktime?

It’s unfortunate that your transcriber is using deprecated software. Apple is no longer developing Quicktime 7 so I don’t think anyone is going to make a strong move towards compatibility. Your Transcribe should probably consider Telestream Switch.

On the Windows side of things Quicktime 7 would pretty much be no go even to have.

Thanks for the heads-up to telestream switch. I was tying to get them to use Catalyst browse but that is a little clunky for transcribing. Switch looks and feels just like Quicktime…but with 100% more Timecode.
