from dvd to fcp needs rendering
Hi,
I am dealing with FCP 5.1.4
got the video out of a DVD with MPEGstreamclip -VOB into DV movie. Then I laid the DV segment into the sequence and… it needs rendering just to lay it out… with two red stripes (reneri nedded for both video and audio). Then I did from dvd to mpeg-streamclip quicktime movie and it still asks for rendering but only video (from two red lines got to one!) but still by laying down the vid onto the sequence it needs rendering…The setting in the MPEG-Stremclip where DV(DV25) for Compression, standard PAL, the audio was resampled to 48KHZ. 4:3 for aspect ratio. vid rate 25 fps

Pixel Aspect, PAL CCIR 601
Field Dominance Lower (even)
Audio, 1 stereo
Aud Rate 48 khz
, and Aud Format. 32 bit floating pointThe quicktime one (that only asks for video rendering is 16 bit for the audio format).
FCP sequence presets DV PAL
is there any chance I can extract the dvd clip and lay it into the sequence without the need of rendering all the time?

Use Quicktime, not DV. The settings in Streamclip export should match the corresponding settings in your sequence. No render will be needed.

Don’t export to DV movie, because you will get a DV Sequence, the same kind of files used by IMovie.
As Tom says export with QT and set the same parameters that you will use in your FC sequence.
