From DPX->QT ProRes

I work at a film sound post production co.
We are looking into various ways to get acces to HD quality picture from our lab, and I feel “out of the loop” so I thought I’d try to educate myself a little bit by asking a few basic questions here.AT this time we can get color corrected HD picture from the lab after the color correction has been completed in their Baselight suites, transferred to HDCAMSR and recaptured into FCP with ProRes.
But I’m trying to figure out (remember sound guy here…)
How to use the final edl on FCP to conform tho “raw” DPX files so that we could get a hi quality (although not CC) pic to the mix sessions as this is such a huge imrovment to running DV, which is the standard quality in offline editing here.
Can this be done easily? What kind of rendering time are we talking about to render to ProRes per minute?
Would it be faster (smarter) to playout via SDI on one FCP and recapture on another (or use a HDCAMSR wichever’s the cheapest)?
Am I making any sense?

As far as converting DPX to QuickTime, you might look at Glue Tools. I know that both AJA and Blackmagic Designs both have abilities to wrap DPX files to open as a QT file too. From there you would just export it to prores using compressor.
