How do I take my color video and make it black and white? I’m still in FCP 4. Is it really this hard, I can’t seem to find a B&W filter. It’s cold in Alaska, and I need some b&w to warm my soul.

Drop on the 3-way Color Corrector and take the Saturation all the way down to zero.

I prefer the Color Corrector though. You can have a lot more control over the levels. Crush the blacks a little, blow out some highlights. MMMMM toasty as a piping hot beverage.
