From Avid to Premiere Pro
We’re making the shift at work. After ten years of Avid, we’ll be moving to Adobe CC.
On the spot production side, we’ll just change over, leaving previous work in legacy backups.
On the promo side – well – I have projects with two or three timelines and maybe hundreds of promos ingested from DVCPro tape. I have the source tapes, but. . .
Is it practical to export the sequences to AAF and somehow copy over the actual Avid media (with the peculiar filenames)? Or will it be easier in the long run to just start from scratch and re-ingest all that media from tape?
Important note – we’re still using Media Composer 2.8.3, so I do not have access to AMA.
IN a separate query as we start to figure our workflow – will Premiere handle .ts files straight to the timeline? Everything we get from Pitch Blue is .ts format.
Sorry, there were no replies found.
