    hi,
i’m finally exporting my video for a SD DVD. I worked with 1280x720p material and im wondering wich is now the best way to get (from COMPRESSOR and then to DVDSTUDIO) a standard DVD format..is there a “cropping” procedure i should follow in COMPRESSOR settings? or is there a COMPRESSOR automation to just keep the 16:9 without any moves?

I tried exporting out a 1280x720p PRessQT movie and drop it in DVDSTUDIO but with very bad quality and no widescreen..

    thanks for help

Export as QT movie, self contained, current settings, so there’s no recompression. Drop that QT into compressor and choose the DVD preset that matches your needs. There’s only a couple. Make sue you choose anamorphic. Encode, and drop that in DVDSP and it should ready to go.

tnx Bret! so there’s no EXPORT USING COMPRESSOR from FCP needed..i thought i would have been better to let COMPRESSOR do the entire job..i’ll try yours.
    tnx again

I create SD DVD’s from DVCProHD footage all the time and send a reference movie to my desktop and drop it onto compressor. I bought the CRAM pack of compressor setting as they have some really nice settings for DVD that don’t require tweaking the audio levels. Sometimes the standard settings for audio in compressor generate audio that is way to quiet.

also make sure the resize setting is set for best or you will
    see some nasty aliasing.
