I recently recorded some sound for a student short film, but have found since importing it that it is distorted. I am confused as to why this was, because the levels when I was recording the sound were set very low. At the time I was concerned about the sound distorting, because I could hear it in the head phones (so I just kept turning the lebvels down, til it was barely audible), but it is still distorted. Like I say the levels aren’t anywhere near clipping level, but still on particular parts (the dialogue of one of our actress’) sound ‘screechy’. Is there anything that can be done to ease this in post. Can anything clever be done with EQ’s. I know there’s probably not much-but anything to tone it down slightly will help.

    Thank you, Josef Brett

Once it’s distorted it’s a done deal … Most likely it was recorded that way originally … WILLIE

I was worried you were going to say that. Oh well, thanks anyway,
