  • Freeze holding animation every 2 sec?

Posted by Avi Aflalo on July 18, 2010 at 10:03 am

i have a ready animation in after effects which i would like to make another version of to a one that updates every 2 sec and freeze hold in between. is there a simple expression for that?
i have lots of layers that demands that certain treatment so i find it quite tedious to do it manually with the manual “hold keyframe” method.

    thanks in advance

You might try posting in the expressions forum.

    thanks for the answer dave.

actually i tried that and it didn’t work for some reason – then i realized my layer was using an expression for getting its motion from another layer.

so i guess “posterize time” isn’t working on an “expressioned” layer?

anyhow, i pre-comped it and re-linked the expression again, and then applied “posterize time”

    now it works!

    thanks again
