  • Freeze frames losing filters

    Hi Folks
Found a few posts about this but no-one seemed to have a solution, so thought I’d try again just in case, in the intervening months it’s been cracked….
If I make a freeze frame from the start of my 5 min clip it’s fine, if I make one from the end the filters have disappeared! If I try copy and paste on the filters the vignette is wrong as I’d zoomed the shot. I know I can export a TGA and re-import but it takes longer and messes up future reconnect options.
Anyone found the fix for this one?
    Thanks

Are you using the “Modify > Make Freeze Frame” to make your still? If that’s not working like you say, try “Export > Using Quicktime Conversion > Still Image”, import, and see if that works.

    Hi Jason
Yes the export option works fine – just takes longer!
It’s very strange as you can make a Freeze Frame (shift N) from the start of the clip at any point up to about 1/3 of the way along and it keeps the filter effects but then past that point to the end it losses the filter information!
    Cheers

    Hi
    A further intersting point….
When exporting a still I noticed a slight change in the highest luma values, with them being slightly clipped, even though they were broadcast safe on my external scope. So I found that exporting 1 frame as a QT and then re-importing it and puting it on the timeline with a speed of 0 worked a treat!!
However still very interested to know why the FCP freeze frame loses filters if anyone does have any insight…
    Cheers
