    hey there

    a quick AE newbie question.

I’m using some paint splatters and I want to freeze frame the splatters after they animate on. I’ve tried using the freeze frame function but it makes the whole clip a freeze frame as opposed to freezing once the animation comes to an end.

I know this is easy to do….trying to get my brain into AE thinking takes a little longer than when I’m editing.

    thanks

time remap should do it… enable it in the layer>time menu, then add a keyframe to the time remap propperty at the point where you want to freeze and delete the keyframe at the end of the property.

No my editor definetly does freeze frames 🙂 just getting my head around how AE does it…new apps with new workflows that’s all.

thanks for your help…..using a new app sure makes you feel dumb!!!

you have a couple of options inside of AE:
    1. File>”Save frame as” and then reimport it.
    2. Use timeremap to set a still frame from video
    3. Right click on footage (when at point where freeze frame is intended) and choose time>freeze frame-*note*-I believe this option is only available in AE7 or greater.

    Hope this helps.
