  • Freeze end of footage w/Time Remap

I used to freeze the end of a piece of footage all the time by using Time Remap.

I’d just apply Time Remap, and that would free up the outpoint of the footage to be dragged around. As of AE7, this appears to no longer be possible.

OTOH, it MUST be possible, so what am I missing???

    Tnx!

i’ve noticed that time remap occasionally won’t let me extend the out point… it’s been a while since i had it happen, but i think figured out that it was often after i had repositioned the footage in the timeline (i mean the footage no longer started at the beginning of the comp). try positioning the footage at the beginning of the comp, then apply time remapping, and see how things go….

Yes, that does seem to be true Kevin.

Also, the fact that even when you can extend the track by leaving it at the 0 point, the track is still limited to the original length of the comp is weak. However, it seems if you reset the lenght after TRemapping, the track is extended to the new length.

All this MAY have been fixed in AE CS3, I don’t know.

Good catch, and thanks for the help.
