Free effects?
Posted by Gilles Gagnon on August 19, 2013 at 1:53 pmDoes anyone know of any useful free video effects or effect packs for SVP?
I know many exist for Premiere.

August 19, 2013 at 4:10 pmI remember their were lots, but now that Vegas is
64bit only, the majority of them will not work.
However Vegasaur and VASST has some free stuff.Steve Rhoden

They seem to be building block type stuff.

August 19, 2013 at 8:30 pmThanks Norman, Steve and Aleksey,
slim pickings indeed. That’s one of the drawbacks of using Vegas. Little in terms of freebies/goodies on the net.

August 19, 2013 at 9:21 pmYes Steve,
or… it could be that Premiere has a much bigger portion of the pro user market and much larger user base. A matter of numbers.Gilles

August 19, 2013 at 9:29 pmYou got that right Steve!
Many of my colleagues have gone down that road.
I’m often tempted to follow suit, from SVP to Premiere. Haven’t yet.If I were to start all over, with no consideration to past investment, I’d definitely give it a try first.

August 19, 2013 at 10:06 pmGilles, sometimes i really wonder what goes on thru the minds
of some software developers, that causes them to make some
of the most idiotic decisions.
Ive followed suit and grabbed my adobe suite of course…lol,
nothing wrong with that, i use all their products in my workflow,
except Premiere, i just ditched it. Vegas is just so much more
faster and fluid, i can see whats on my timeline, it renders faster,
it imports better..and the list goes on.
But it seems they are on the verge of messing things up themselves
also, lol.Steve Rhoden

August 19, 2013 at 10:21 pmThanks for this tidbit, Steve.
perhaps I was having a “grass is greener…” moment.Great to hear a veteran like you has recently given Premiere a shot and… is giving the thumbs up to Vegas. I’m following you… until the next SVP frustration 🙂
