Frame sizes dont’ fit after compression on Adobe Premiere Pro
Hi,
I made a music video in which I use split screen (cropping one image to play on the left side and laying it over another which shows through on the right side.) I have also resized every clip so it fits in the frame, and have enlarged other clips or changed thier positioning using the “motion” tools as well. Basic stuff so far…
Everything fits in the frame and looks great when I play it back in Premiere, but when I compress it for youtube, (using a .wmv compressor or a custom Mpeg 2 one) all the sizes are off – for example: The left side of the split screen during some parts is much smaller, so the bottom clip, that should only be on the right side, shows through all around.
Yet, in other clips the split screen side is larger and extends beyond the entire frame.
When there is no split screen effect the same thing happens – some clips fill the frame as they should, while others, that have the same sizing specifications, have black bands at the top and bottom.
I captured all the clips at the same time, and I have resized clips for videos before and they don’t jut out of the frame like this, refusing to adhere to the frame size!
I have gone over every clip and on some, if I leave them as they were when I imported them (for example at X coordinate 360 and Y coordinate 24) they fill the entire frame when compressed with no black bands, which is good. Some clips I need to enlarge and move to fit the right side of the split screen though so I can’t just make everything back to those settings. I cant’ imagine resizing clips should make everything messed up, since this is a common thing to do in editing.
The project settings are 720 x 480 if that helps at all… I’m sorry I am not a whiz with this stuff at all, I seriously do not understand compression. Anyone know why some of my clips, resized or not, are not fitting in the frame after compression, even though they look great in premiere? I dont’ know where else to turn at the moment.
