I want to encode a 10 Bit Uncompressed QT file into an M2V.

The uncompressed file has a frame rate of 23.98.

When I change the sequence frame rate to 23.98 several windows close including the Timeline and others. So I can’t proceed. The windows options to bring those windows back are also greyed out.

This happens even when I do nothing but open FCP and simply change the frame rate to 23.97. Those windows disappear and I’m unable to bring them back

How can I get those windows to open?

How do you change the sequence frame rate?

I right clicked on the sequence and went to settings where I changed the frame rate to 23.98 from 29.97. Suddenly my timeline vanished and I can’t get it back.

ok so if I just change the frame rate in the compressor’s inspector to 23.98 for the M2V all should work?

Because the sequence in FCP is set to 29.97 so when I export to Compressor it has that frame rate already set.

Are you saying I should just use compressor as a stand alone. And not even bother with final cut?
